Conclusion

Explaining the Results: This experiment showed that no other liquid besides water is the most beneficial when it comes to how fast a plant grows. Water obviously grew the most. The milk didn't grow as fast as water, but in the second week, the milk was showing a growth spurt. By the third week, the milk was rotting and the plant dried out and died. The coffee also showed some results the second week and grew a lot more the third week. The plants that showed the most results were all water-based or natural liquids, water, coffee, and milk. The apple juice and the energy drink started to sprout but didn't grow much after that. The liquids that did not show any results at all was the Coke and Diet Coke.  Conclusion: My hypothesis stated that water and apple juice will have the tallest plants after three weeks of watering them. I also predicted that because apple juice has natural sugars in it, it will grow faster than water. I stated that Diet Coke and Coke would not grow based on

The results of the experiment was that the plant that grew the most was the water, coffee, and milk. The Diet Coke, Coke, apple juice, and energy drink either did not grow at all or barely grew.

Experimental Design: In order to conduct this experiment, I will put the same amount of soil into seven cups and plant a bean seed in each one. I will place each cup in the same spot where they will all receive the same amount of sunlight. Then, I will label each cup with the type of liquid that I will be watering it with. Each day, I will water each plant with one tablespoon of the different type of liquid. The first week of this experiment, I will still water the plants daily, but I will cover each cup with plastic wrap allowing the seeds to germinate and start to sprout. After a week, I will uncover the plants and continue to water them. I will take pictures of the progress weekly in order to show what plants are growing and which plants haven't.  Variables: Independent: Type of liquid watering the plants Dependent: Plant growth  Constant: Soil, amount of sunlight, amount of liquid being watered, bean seed, cup Materials: Measuring spoon, seven identical cups, soil, bean plant s

Introduction

Summarizing the Background Information: I will be conducting an experiment to see if different types of liquids affect the growth of a plant. In order to do this, I am going to have multiple bean plants and put them all in the same amount of sunlight and soil. I will water the plants with different liquids such as water, Coke, diet Coke, energy drink, coffee, and apple juice. This experiment will test how different types of sugar, such as natural and artificial, will make the plant grow slower or faster. It will also test if there are other liquids that make a plant grow faster than just using water. I am curious to see how additives effect the growth of the living organisms.  Question: Have you ever wondered if there was a more efficient liquid other than water that would help plants grow faster? This question will be answered by conducting an experiment testing if there are other liquids that have a bigger impact on plants that are not water. I will be observing which out of the seve
